Omaha is located very near the geographical center of the continental U.S. alongside the Missouri River and is home to the world’s largest indoor desert sitting under the world’s largest glazed geodesic dome, the country’s largest indoor rainforest, and the world’s largest nocturnal animal display, three of many showcase exhibits at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and site of the 4th International Symposium on Acoustic Communication by Animals!
Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo was named the Top Zoo in the World based on reviews submitted to the TripAdvisor travel website, and it received the 2014 Travelers’ Choice Award based on millions of reviews, again according to TripAdvisor, topping 275 other zoos and aquaria in the U.S., Canada, Europe, India, Asia, the South Pacific and South America.
